<p align="center">2012 Executive Board Election Rules</p>
<ul>
<li>Nominations will be taken by email following an email call for nominations.  Nominations from the floor at the time of the election will not be allowed unless there are no nominations for a given office submitted by email in response to the call.  Only those positions for which no nominations were received in response to the call will have nominations from the floor.  Self-nominations will be permitted.</li>
<li>The Executive Board will endeavor to contact all nominees who were nominated by someone other than themselves in order to obtain an acceptance or rejection of the nomination.  If the Executive Board is unable to obtain an acceptance from any such nominee at least one week before the election, that nominee will be dropped from the list.</li>
<li>The Executive Board will finalize the list of nominees and attempt to obtain a short narrative for each candidate.  The list of nominees and narratives will be sent out to the membership at least a week prior to the election date.</li>
<li>Each office will be filled in separate votes in the following order:  President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary.</li>
<li>Voting will be by ballot unless a race is uncontested and a motion is made to approve by acclamation (unanimous consent).</li>
<li>Votes may also be sent in via e-mail to info@bgsdc.org provided a phone number is also included where the voter can be contacted for confirmation.</li>
<li>Ballots will be tallied by the incumbent officers not running for the position in question.</li>

<h3><strong>Duties of the President</strong></h3>
<ol>
<li>Preside at all meetings of the alumni chapter</li>
<li>Be empowered to appoint committees as provided herein and shall be an ex-officio member of each committee.</li>
<li>Be the official representative of the alumni chapter.</li>
<li>Be authorized to co-sign checks.</li>

<h3><strong>Duties of the Vice President</strong></h3>
<ol>
<li>Succeed to the office and power of the President in his/her absence or for the remainder of his/her term if the presidency is vacated for any reason. In the event of such a vacancy, the Executive Board shall appoint a successor to the post of Vice President.</li>
<li>Be authorized to co-sign checks.</li>
<li>Perform any other duties necessary to facilitate the functions of the chapter.</li>
</ol>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<h3><strong>Duties of the Secretary</strong></h3>
<ol>
<li>Record the minutes of the meetings of the Executive Board and General Membership.</li>
<li>Have on hand a copy of the constitution and bylaws at all of the Executive Board and General Membership meetings.</li>
<li>Keep up-to-date signature authorizations of such bank, other financial institution, or money market fund(s) where the alumni chapter maintains its funds.</li>
<li>Have custody of all official documents, such as the constitution, bylaws, etc.</li>
<li>Be the official liaison between Beta Gamma Sigma and the alumni chapter.</li>
<li>Answer mail addressed to the alumni chapter or forward it to the proper officer or committee chair.</li>
<li>Perform any other duties necessary to facilitate the functions of the chapter.</li>
</ol>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<h3><strong>Duties of the Treasurer</strong></h3>
<ol>
<li>Be authorized to collect all monies payable to the alumni chapter.</li>
<li>Be charged with the care and custody of the funds of the alumni chapter.</li>
<li>Make all necessary disbursements in accordance with the directions of the Executive Board.</li>
<li>Arrange for accepting reservations for the meetings of the Executive Board and General Membership, receiving members as they arrive at meetings, and collecting monies at meetings.</li>
<li>Receive the payment of dues and shall arrange for the mailings of dues notices and receipt/acknowledgement of dues payments.</li>
<li>Account for and deposit all monies received.</li>
<li>Be authorized to deposit funds at a bank, other financial institution, or money market fund approved by the Executive Board in the name of the alumni chapter.</li>
<li>Be authorized to co-sign checks.</li>
<li>Maintain the alumni chapter&#8217;s financial accounts and shall enter, in detail, receipts and disbursements.  These accounts shall be open at all times to inspection by any member of, or individual designated by, the Executive Board. A report of the alumni chapter&#8217;s financial condition shall be made at each Executive Board meeting. At the conclusion of the term of office, or resignation, an audit shall be conducted by an Audit Committee, and an audit report may be presented to the Executive Board.</li>
<li>Perform any other duties necessary to facilitate the functions of the chapter.</li>
</ol>

<p>Lijith is an experienced Business Professional who graduated in May of 2011 with an MBA, Beta Gamma Sigma in Finance from the University of Baltimore. <span id="more-110"></span>  He earned his undergraduate degree in Economics from the University of Maryland College Park.  During his undergraduate studies he received delegate and senatorial scholarships which contributed financially towards his education.  He has over 4 years of financial experience, with 3.5 years spent as a Business Director in the non-profit sector.  During his YMCA tenure he was known mostly for streamlining many processes and becoming an expert in the AS400 system.  The efficiency model not only earned him internal performance awards but also became widely used throughout the entire association. He is currently working as a Business Analyst at Computer Sciences Corporation.</p>

<p>Jasmine Rogers was inducted in the Beta Gamma Sigma at Delaware State University as an undergraduate student, earning her Bachelor&#8217;s degree in Management and Marketing. <span id="more-105"></span> <a href="http://bgsdc.org/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/JasmineRogers.jpg"><img class="size-full wp-image-106 alignright" title="JasmineRogers" src="http://bgsdc.org/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/JasmineRogers.jpg" alt="" width="180" /></a>  She moved on to get her master&#8217;s in Sports Administration at her Alma mater, while working in the Athletic Department as the Athletic Marketing Assistant. As an Athletic Marketing Assistant at Delaware State University, she helped solidify more than 30 new corporate partners, raising $220,000 in the department&#8217;s first year of existence.  She also hosted, organized and spoke at several events in association with the University, including  the grand opening of Delaware State&#8217;s state of the art  Strength and Conditioning Center, and the Student Athlete Awards Banquet.  From Delaware State, Jasmine moved to the DC area to become the Head Men&#8217;s and Women&#8217;s Cross Country and Women&#8217;s Track &amp; Field coach, coaching several All-Americans.  Transitioning out of the athletic world, Jasmine currently works at SmartBrief in their Health Care group, as a Sales and Marketing Associate.  In her current position, she&#8217;s responsible for working with companies to put their advertising campaigns into their industry specific publications</p>

Courtney is currently responsible for managing over 70 million  dollars of IT purchases through an array of bureaus under DOC. Courtney also has experience with maintenance and operation, implementing new processes, writing standard operating procedures, and providing recommendations to program managers/executives.  Courtney earned her Bachelor’s in Business Finance at Norfolk State University where she was also inducted in the Beta Gamma Sigma International Honor Society. In 2010 Courtney joined and became active member in Beta Gamma Sigma DC Alumni Chapter; and from2010-2011 Courtney served as the BGS DC Secretary. </em></p>

<p>Kara is a 2007 dual degree graduate, Magna Cum Laude, with a BA in Spanish and a BBA in Management from East Tennessee State University.  In 2009, she graduated with her MBA as a two-time Quillen Scholar, also from ETSU.  While at ETSU, Kara was selected to both Who’s Who Among Students in American Colleges and Universities and the Student Leader Hall of Fame.  Kara is an experienced research analyst serving the socially responsible investment community.  She began her career as an associate with IW Financial in Johnson City, Tennessee and currently works for MSCI in Rockville, Maryland, where she evaluates corporate governance and financial issues for institutional shareholders worldwide.  In addition, Kara has experience working in the DC non-profit arena.</p>
<p>Kara is also a certified Zumba fitness instructor and an active member of the community via her membership  with the Jaycees (U.S. Junior Chamber).</p>

As a research assistant, she conducted a Delphi study with participating import-export businesses, U.S. Commercial Service and the Foreign Trade Zone to provide business solutions on key issues in the trade industry. Additionally, she develops country risk assessments to identify and measure political, economic, and social risk of foreign direct investment. Outside of her full-time work and studies she is an independent consultant to a private global service provider that specializes in Satellite Installations, IT/Communications, Global Logistics, Engineering, and Health Services. As a consultant at this organization, she creates technical proposals, finds partners to develop and provide sustainable solutions for successful implementations, and assists in managing the technical aspects of large government contracts. Pamela was inducted into the honor societies of Beta Gamma Sigma and Sigma Iota Epsilon.</p>
